Women’s Leadership Conference presented by the Greater Muskogee Area Chamber of Commerce

MUSKOGEE, OK – Women of the region are invited to attend the Women’s Leadership Conference presented by the Greater Muskogee Area Chamber of Commerce. The ninth annual, full-day conference entitled “Women Reaching to New Heights” will be held on Wednesday, July 10th, at Indian Capital Technology Center in Muskogee.

“We want to make a better business environment for women,” said Sue Godwin, Chair of the Women’s Leadership Committee. “The Women’s Leadership Committee designed this conference to be an uplifting experience because we want to keep young women climbing the business ladder, and inspire business women who are already in leadership positions.”

“All of the conference speakers are successful female leaders,” explained Treasure McKenzie, President of the Greater Muskogee Area Chamber of Commerce. “These women were specifically asked to present at this conference because of their extensive experience.”

The day begins with a motivating open session presented by Norma Noble, Deputy Secretary of Commerce with the State of Oklahoma. She will present ‘Women and the Butterfly Effect: We Invented It!’. The keynote address of the day will be presented by Major General Rita Aragon, retired Secretary Military and Veteran Affairs. This motivational conference also features a choice of 6 breakout sessions with valuable topics for women. The exceptional session titles include “How Organization Affects Time Management” by Kimberly Williams, Professional Organizer and owner of Order Extraordinaire; “Office Yoga” by Lisa Braken, Owner and Yoga Instructor of The Canebrake; “Women of Courage, Confidence and Character” by Roberta Preston, Girls Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma; “40 Years of Leadership Advice in 40 Minutes” by Linda Edmondson; “Evolution of the Modern Woman” by Dr. Kim Gordon, University of Arkansas, Fort Smith; “Stop Communicating…Start Connecting” by Nancy Jackson, Oklahoma Small Business Development Centers; Non-Traditional Roles Panel that includes Municipal Judge Toni Bradley-Smith, Dr. Francis Johnon, Officer Shannon Crary, Natural Resource Specialist Cheri Dixon. An incredible panel of “Legends” that include present and past woman Mayors will share their personal stories and experiences on their road to success. The panelists include Kathy Hewitt, Wren Stratton, Lelia Foley-Davis, Susan Savage and Patrice Douglas

The registration form for the Women's Leadership Conference may be downloaded from the Muskogee Chamber website or call the Chamber at 918-682-2401. The full-day conference is designed for women; however men are encouraged to attend the lunch and keynote address. The cost is $79 per person for the full conference, including lunch, or $30 for lunch and keynote seminar only. After July 6th, the cost will change to $89 per person for the full conference, $35 for lunch and keynote only. There are a limited number of spots available.
